What Is Name & Number Printing?
Name and number printing turns a blank fan-edition jersey into your own player shirt. The back carries a large number, your name (or a player's name) above it, and sometimes a small competition sleeve badge or star mark. What looks simple is actually tightly regulated: every major league has its own rules on font, size, placement and number range.

League-by-League Printing Rules
Not every league prints names and numbers the same way. Before you order, know what the competition demands — and what your jersey will actually look like.

One detail fans often miss: the sleeve badge. Premier League and La Liga badges are positioned on the right sleeve in 2026-27. UEFA honour badges and star marks sit on the left sleeve in Champions League matches.
Heat Press vs Embroidered: Which Should You Choose?
When you add printing to a replica jersey, you are almost always getting heat-pressed flex / vinyl. Embroidery is rare on modern football shirts, but both methods exist. Here is how they compare.

How to Order Custom Printing
Ordering a printed jersey from us is straightforward:
1. Pick your kit. Choose the 2026-27 home, away or third jersey you want. Look for the "Custom Name & Number" or "Custom Print Option" label.
2. Enter your text. Add the name you want above the number. For player names, we recommend copying the official spelling from the club's squad list.
3. Choose your number. Most products accept 0-99. If you want a goalkeeper's 1, 13 or 25, make sure you are ordering a goalkeeper shirt for the full effect.
4. Select your badge. Champions League and league badge options are applied automatically where the product supports them.

Wash & Care: Make Your Print Last
The biggest killer of printed names and numbers is not the match — it is the washing machine. Follow these rules and your print will outlast the season.
Do: turn inside out, wash at 30°C or below, use a gentle detergent, air dry flat, and iron only on the reverse side with a cloth barrier.
Don't: use bleach or fabric softener, tumble dry, dry clean, wring the printed area, or wash within 24 hours of receiving a freshly printed shirt.
Heat-pressed vinyl starts to show hairline cracks after heavy use, especially across the shoulders and upper back where a backpack rubs. If you wear your shirt to the gym or on a commute, rotate it with other kits to reduce friction on the print.
Common Mistakes to Avoid

Assuming replica = authentic: Player-issue authentic shirts use lighter, heat-bonded latex-style printing. Replica printing is thicker flock or vinyl. The look is similar from a distance, but the feel and lifespan differ. See our Authentic vs Replica Guide for the full breakdown.
Ignoring league fonts: You cannot put a Barcelona Modernista-style font on a La Liga match shirt. If you want a true league look, stick to the official competition font.
Over-washing: Unless you have spilled something on it, a matchday jersey does not need washing after every wear. Air it out instead.
