48 Hours, Five Stories

The Nations League’s reshaped calendar squeezed four matchdays into one September window, and the 26-27 September window is where the plots thickened. Two nights, five heavyweight ties, and a shirt for every one of them — all five now played, all five decided. Think of this as your watch-and-wear record: the narrative, the stakes, and exactly which jersey to pull on.

England 2-3 Spain — The Final, Replayed

Wembley on 26 September delivered the rematch the draw promised — the straight replay of the Euro 2024 final, and another Spanish win. Thomas Tuchel’s England led 2-1 against Luis de la Fuente’s world champions in the Group A3 opener, only for substitute Álex Baena to level and Mikel Oyarzabal to dink in the 74th-minute winner. The arc wrote itself after all: a wounded host, a reigning European and World Cup 2026 champion, and a stadium that does not forget.

For England it was a measuring stick disguised as a group game, and the verdict was familiar. For Spain it was a statement of intent — the machine that swept 2024 and 2026, this time asked to do it on English noise and pushed all the way. Wembley, England’s only home date of the four-match window — Tuchel’s side now travel to Prague and Zagreb — sounded exactly like a stadium that knew the stakes. Spain’s control told in the end, but only after a genuine scare.

Wear the colours: white under the arch for England; Spain’s shimmering red for the side everyone is trying to catch. Both are live — see the Shop the Edit grid.

Norway 1-2 Portugal — Ronaldo vs Haaland, At Last

Oslo’s Ullevaal finally got the meeting everyone waited for: Cristiano Ronaldo against Erling Haaland, the first ever — with Norway missing the suspended David Møller Wolfe and injured Alexander Sørloth, and Portugal unchanged. And Haaland, remember, is the Nations League’s all-time top scorer with 19. Two generations, one pitch.

Both had won their openers — Portugal 1-0 over Wales, Norway 3-2 past Denmark — so the winner in Oslo went top of Group A4. Portugal got there: João Félix struck on 17 minutes, Haaland levelled just after the break, and Gonçalo Ramos punished a costly Ørjan Nyland error on 54 to send Jorge Jesus’ side top on six points.

Wear the colours: Portugal’s deep red with Ronaldo’s No.7 — the shirt of the 1,000-goal chase — and Norway’s red for Haaland are both live in our range.

Germany 0-1 Greece — Klopp’s Home Bow Spoiled

Jürgen Klopp’s Germany opened their home account at the WWK Arena, and it went badly. The creative axis built around Florian Wirtz — with Jamal Musiala (thigh) and Kai Havertz (hamstring) both ruled out — could not break Greece down, and Anastasios Kourbelis struck on 74 minutes to win it for the visitors.

After the 1-1 draw at the Netherlands in the opener, the home win meant to be the reset button never came. Greece are no walkover: in League A for the first time in their history, and now top of Group A2 on six points — a late win in Belgrade, then this. Klopp’s Anfield-intensity reboot met a side that proved it can spoil the party.

Wear the colours: Germany’s black-red-gold home is live — the shirt the new era wears. Greece’s 2026/27 shirt is not yet in our range.

Serbia 1-2 Netherlands — Van Dijk vs a Patched Eagles

Belgrade’s Rajko Mitić hosted Ronald Koeman’s Oranje in a Group A2 reunion. Serbia were without Mitrović, Vlahović, Milenković and Rajković — and it told. Mexx Meerdink, handed the Dutch attack, scored twice either side of Luka Jović’s 46th-minute reply: a 30th-minute penalty and a 69th-minute finish that settled it against Virgil van Dijk’s organising.

The Netherlands had rescued a point at Germany in the opener; Serbia had dropped two at home to Greece. Both needed the three, and only the Oranje got them — the Marakana does not forgive a second stumble. Full Serbia vs Netherlands recap here.

Wear the colours: the Oranje home is live — van Dijk’s No.4, instantly recognisable. Serbia’s 2026/27 shirt is not yet in our range.

Denmark 2-0 Wales — The Underdog Duel

Parken hosted a genuine A4 tussle — Denmark’s established core against a Wales side in League A for the first time — and both were depleted: Denmark missing Dolberg and Bah, Wales without Wilson, Rodon and Broadhead. The tense, low-ceiling scrap arrived as billed, and the first goal owned the night: Ben Davies turned one into his own net on 53 minutes, and Gustav Isaksen made it safe on 66.

It is the kind of fixture the Nations League was built for: two proud football nations, a hostile home crowd, and a table where every point is a currency. Denmark ended their slump and climbed to three points behind Portugal; Wales leave Copenhagen bottom of Group A4 on goal difference.

Wear the colours: neither Denmark nor Wales 2026/27 shirts are in our range yet — but the full national-team collection is one click away, and both sides earn a place here the moment stock lands.
